The common Keys for this instrument are either B flat or Ebb. In band, the clarinet basics music is transposed for you so you can play cecilio tenor saxophone for the note you see on the sheet music and it will sound right with everyone else. If you don't have music transposed for the instrument and want to play your bassoon instrument with others, you would have to learn how to look at the notes and play different notes than the written notes.
